In this interview with Dr. Esther Connor, chair of the DHPA DEI Committee, Dr. Scott Ketover – past president of DHPA and president & CEO of MNGI Digestive Health – discusses how the organization’s DEI efforts have strengthened both patient care and workplace culture.
Dr. Ketover reflects on the importance of understanding how our personal backgrounds and biases shape the way we lead and interact with others. Recognizing the individuality patients and colleagues bring to the healthcare setting is essential to delivering respectful, effective care. At the same time, it is critical to develop and strengthen systems that address the needs of the diverse communities served by independent GI practices. The DEI committee at MNGI has taken a leadership role in improving its systems of healthcare delivery to the community.
Join Dr. Connor and Dr. Ketover as they explore how discussions around diversity, equity and inclusion can be refocused to help achieve health care’s core purpose of improving lives through better care delivery.
